The Lair of the Golden Bear has a special place in my heart. When Nira & Eoin contacted me about shooting their wedding there, I was really excited. Not only because its the place where I met my husband (also the caterer – Daniel Prelip!)…but they were getting married at my favorite location in the camp – Vista Lodge. With its beautiful pine trees, granite boulders and mountain views it was a gorgeous location with endless photography opportunities. This sweet couple lives in South Lake Tahoe so getting married outdoors was a must! I enjoyed every part of this mountain wedding & if you look at the dance photos – looks like they did too!!

Justin Cole’s first portrait at the Lair

Sweet Justin Cole is one of those babies that just keeps smiling. Put him in the weeds in a field? He loves it! Pick him up? Sure. Justin’s mom Jenny had me shoot his sweet portrait last summer in the open fields at the Lair of the Golden Bear family camp. Since Jenny has worked for the Lair for over 10 years it was the perfect place to take photos of her first baby Justin:) Thanks Jenny!

Joanna & Matt at the Lair

Joanna and Matt are so cute:) Joanna and I worked together years ago at a summer camp called Lair if the Golden Bear in Pinecrest, Ca. So I have known her for…well lets not say how many years! Now campers at the Lair they decided it was the perfect place to shoot their engagement session. At first Matt was a little nervous like most grooms-to-be, but after a beer and some laughs Matt warmed right up to being photographed. It was one of those perfect puffy white cloud days and I could not be happier with the result of this sweet woodsy photo session. I will be shooting their wedding this summer on 6-11-11 at David Girard Vinyards in Placerville, Ca and I can’t wait!! (You can see their wedding photos too – CLICK HERE!)
